Guitar Legend Speaks With Jave Patterson

He’s played on the G3 tour, had a massive radio and video hit back in the 90’s with his band Dream Theater (remember Pull Me Under?) and is celebrating 30 years of touring the world as one of the most proficient guitarists on the planet. Guitar virtuoso John Petrucci took some time to speak with Jave Patterson about the early influences of Dream Theater, the abrupt exit of longtime drummer Mike Portnoy, who left DT to join Avenged Sevenfold on the Nightmare tour after the untimely passing of The Rev, the influx of ideas from new drummer Mike Mangini, how Dream Theater approached the writing and performing of their new album Distance Over Time, and much more.

Jave and John also laugh about some of the guitar parody videos released over the years featuring (and punking) on Petrucci, which are included below. Check out the interview and enjoy the laughs at the end!
